Suggestions

1. A national, independent entity should decide who is in the White House Press Corps.

Currently, the president decides. This arrangement, unfortunately, casts the nation back to the pre-revolution when the crown controlled a popular opinion of themselves. The U.S. press was meant to report equally, so that what concerned the national founders the most would not happen - trading one crown for another.

2. Give small local journalism publishers tax relief.

The best action that can be done to save the Freedom of the Press is to save local journalism. Tax relief should be given in the way of non-physical requirements, such as software and database subscriptions. A sustainability model can be created to introduce a legislative bill. Religious organizations are given tax relief due to First Amendment protection. Freedom of the Press should be given the same protection.
